The stage of ancient gladiatorial combat. A 2000-year old Roman amphitheatre in the centre of Pula, Croatia. The ultimate battleground for the bravest and the strongest. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of history.

The final competition of the Tribal Clash Europe 2017 season will be held inside the 2000 year old Roman amphitheatre in Pula, Croatia on 13-15 October 2017.

The Pula Arena is the stage of ancient gladiatorial combat, the scene of fights so savage and barbaric that they will live forever in stories and history books. We are inviting the best teams from each of the three European stages to compete on this ultimate battleground in an electrifying two day competition. This will be Tribal Clash on another level.

The magnificent old Roman amphitheatre in Pula, Croatia, is among the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the world and the only remaining Roman amphitheatre to have four side towers and with all three Roman architectural orders entirely preserved. It was built in 27BC-68AD, at the same time as the Colosseum in Rome. The arena remained in use until 500AD when gladiatorial fights were banned.

The ground plan is elliptical with the longer axis measuring 132m, the limestone walls are 33m high. The gladiator fights took place in the central flat area with the spectators sitting on the stone tiers which are still preserved. Spectators at Tribal Clash will be able to watch the competition seated on the same stone seats as the crowds watching gladiators fight until death during the Roman empire. The underground passages, once used as the staging area for the gladiators and wild animals before they were released onto the arena, are still preserved and in use. We will have full access to the arena including the underground passages and corridors, and they will become part of the athlete experience during the Tribal Clash weekend.

When we were standing in the middle of the Arena looking at the old limestone walls and the seating, when we walked in the underground labyrinthine passageways imagining how the gladiators must have felt waiting for their turn to perform, we could not imagine a more fitting venue for a Tribal Clash European Final. We want to honour the history of this special monument of human strength and bravery, so you can expect drums, flags, and ceremony appropriate for an event of this magnitude.

We are very privileged to have been given a special one off permission to host the Final in the Pula Arena, and we are very grateful to the City of Pula and the Pula Archeological Society for welcoming Tribal Clash to their beautiful city. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any athlete to compete on this ultimate athletic stage, there is no guarantee that we will be able to return to the Pula Arena – Tribal Clash in Pula may not happen again after October 2017.

A swim and run event will take place in Premantura, a peninsula outside of Pula known for its pristine pine forests and crystal clear water.

To have a chance of experiencing this competition of all competitions, to have the honour of representing your tribe on this ultimate athletic stage, assemble your tribe and sign up to one of the European stages. We will be inviting the strongest, fittest and most capable teams to compete in Tribal Clash Croatia.
