This year at Tribal Clash UK we have partnered with the London-based yoga company Fierce Grace, to bring you yoga on the beach but not as you know it. Fierce Grace founder Michele Pernetta led the hot yoga revolution in the UK in the 1990s before establishing a new system, drawing from classical schools of yoga such as Bikram, Ashtanga and Hatha, but adopted to the needs and abilities of anyone and everyone, young or old. Fierce Grace was born to push back the boundaries of how yoga ‘should’ be. If you have always seen yoga as an hour of explained breathing and chanting for middle aged ladies, it’s time to change your perception.
I wanted to offer a range of classes to fully meet the needs of the students that come to my studios, as well as those that haven’t yet felt we could serve them. My hope is that this system will support you at every age and stage of your life. My vision is that in 30 years from now the practitioner practicing Fierce Grace will be a new breed of older person. Gone are the Zimmer frames, walking sticks and aches and pains. This new breed of Yoga Elder will up a mountain in their hiking shoes at 80, teaching their grandchildren handstands or scuba diving on a beach in Goa. Yoga Granddad will be leading fitness revolutions. Yoga is not just for the young and fit. It is to make every age young and fit.”
Fabian from Fierce Grace will be leading several classes over the weekend from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon, inside the giant tipi. In addition to being an awesome yogi, Fabian is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and can often be found under a barbell at CrossFit London.
The classes are free to all Tribal Clash participants, and suitable for all abilities. If you can breathe, you can do yoga. Session times will be published on Facebook and on blackboards at Tribal Clash.
